Chemo 8.2

Another day where I am not doing too badly. I took a few naps yesterday, and slept well last night. No night sweats last night! Only very mild nausea yesterday that went away with a little food and medication.

Yesterday I read in Heather's blog about how she is concentrating on visualizing the treatment working and defeating her cancer (she imagines Pacman gobbling up the cancer cells). I used to try to do this back in the beginning of treatment, but visualizing chemo tended to make me want to puke. It's a great idea though and I need to get back to it, because I am sure it helps.

I used to visualize Kemo-Kasper (that's the video game we made at UOVO last fall about a little Chemo "Dude" named Kasper who flies around zapping cancer cells). Kemo-Kasper is good, but last night I decided to go with a more brutal image. I settled on Al Capone with a baseball bat (played by Deniro of course).

It's of course hard to measure the success of this visualization, but hey, no night sweats last night! And it's funny, while finding those pictures above, I remembered Deniro's speech during that scene. He's talking about the importance of Team and the guy getting whacked is not a team player. Pretty fitting image I think, considering the cancer cells are my body's own cells.
